Styling in your home

Figuring out the right proportions for artwork and furniture in your home can be a bit tricky, but getting it right makes all the difference. When things are balanced-whether it's the size of your art, the layout of your furniture, or how everything flows-it instantly elevates the look and feel of your space.

As a consultant designer, I can help you find that sweet spot.

The right design advice can really bring out the value of your home, whether you're getting ready to sell or just want to make your space feel more cohesive. I can help you see the value in your space and show you how to make it look its absolute best. Whether you're preparing to sell or just want a fresh look, I'll guide you on how to arrange your artwork and style your space so it feels welcoming and balanced. With years of design expertise- I'll teach you areas to target and show you how to create emotional connection.

Skylights

Behind the scenes footage.

Don't underestimate the impact of skylights-they bring in subtle, diffused light to a space making it feel bigger and brighter. The soft glow adds a touch of elegance-transforming and elevating an otherwise dark area.

Clients frequently undervalue the importance of lighting in their homes/sites and fall into the trap of it becoming an afterthought (bring it up with your designer during the conceptual stages of your design)! Personally, I think lighting is one of the most overlooked aspects of a space.

I'm reminded of this great quote:

"You can use an eraser on the drafting table or a sledge hammer on the construction site."

Reeded glass doors

They provide privacy- without compromising light. I too am excited that this art deco look is back in a big way.

Home Styling

Very much enjoying styling with these colours.  Reminds me of the fall in Vancouver.

New Doors Transformed

Get yourself along to a salvage yard and bring an old door back to life again.  It's so darn therapeutic.

New collection

I had a blast working for this Brisbane company Ems for Kids.  What is it about kids products that gets all the creative juices going?!!  I actually found it hard to edit my designs; there are SO many fun concepts that could be developed!  The job included concepts, a new collection, new packaging and a new catalogue.  Biggest.week.ever.   This presentation was for some very large US retailers.  It's all VERY exciting!!!  Their new collection will be out shortly.  Click on the link to find out more about hearing protection for your little ones:  http://www.earmuffsforkids.com.au/

Branding

Logos, tags, branding!  I've had lots of fun seeing this Brisbane label evolve.

Flower Markets

Today I went to the flower markets.  It wasn't until I arrived home that I was able to appreciate what my camera captured.  The detail in these flowers is unnnnnreal!  I hope these photos bless you as much as they blessed me.

Native floral wreaths

I've had a wreath hanging above my outdoor table setting for about two years now.  This week I saw a dried wreath in Eco Outdoors (located in New Farm) and felt inspired to 're-work' mine!  Australian native flora here we come!   I'm hoping it dries nicely and doesn't set off my husbands' allergies.  Eek!   Click on the photos to scroll through the images.

Gosh, you never know what jobs you'll be working on as a designer!  New branding for a boutique originally located in Bulimba now expanding to Paddington.
